On Ghislain Paquet’s track…

At 9h00, on October 19, 2018 By (N.D.L.R.: Interview by Sylvain Poisson)

Since when are you interested in horse racing ?

Since my young age. Already at the age of five or six, my father and his brothers unknowingly relayed to me their passion for horses. This beautiful beast attracted me. In school, I took a course in Radio-Television and then became an announcer in 1993. This was the beginning of this great adventure.

What led you to develop such a passion ?

The passion for this world still too little known intrigued me to the highest point. The dozens of factors to consider in trying to guess who wins the race interest me to the highest point. Analyzing and handicapping the races is for me a job that I like very much. I like to dissect a racing program. A passion that still lives in my life today after 25 years of work in the Quebec horse racing industry.

What does mutual betting bring you ?

Adding some bets here and there during a day (or evening) at the races brings so much spice, so much fun and thrilling sensations ! And what’s more, if you choose the right winning horses, your “fun” is doubled if not tripled. It’s like winning the Lotto except that you do not win as much… and you chose your horse. Not a machine ! The difference is here !

How often do you bet ?

Over the years, I have been able to win the trust of amateurs. To build a solid and lasting credibility. They know that my analyzes are serious and thorough in order to maintain the best efficiency possible. That said, to avoid any conflict of interest with my role as a handicapper-analyst, I do not bet on H3R races. It has always been against my principles. In “interpistes”, it’s different. With HPIbet, it’s so easy and fun. In my role as an analyst for Misesetsabots.com, I regularly bet my suggestions, because I put time and serious. Since I have to watch a maximum of races in my week, I have to bet maybe four or five days a week on average through my HPI account. There are plenty of ways to bet and make profit on horse racing without breaking your budget.

What are the main things you remember to bet ?

The last results of each participant, the class, their driver-coach, their starting position, their rating, and many other factors to consider, but these are my main ones. Exacta and Trifecta are my favorite bets.

Your biggest gain in career ?

A $ 2,100 Trifecta wagered at the Hippodrome 3R at the end of the 90s. I had bet a Key Trifecta with three other horses (ex: 1 with 2-3-4, 2-3-4) on a neglected horse who was climbing class, but who impressed me the week before. An ambleur led by Mario Baillargeon. You do not forget that !

Paris’ questions ?

Win Placed Classed: The three horses that impressed you the most ?

1- Life Sign (Little Brown Jug)

2- Wiggleit Giggleit

3- Foiled Again

And then, I can not forget:

Royal Spoiler and Sound Machine

Trifecta: Your three best drivers of all time ?

1- John Campbell

2- Daniel Dubé

3- Yannick Gingras

And how not to mention Louis-Philippe Roy et Gaétan Lamy

Double Bet: Two Predictions for 2019

1- Over $ 100,000 in bets per live program. Our H3R TV Show will search for new fans
