** Make sure this race is on turf.
The # 1 Feature Creature 2/1 is the one that has the most start on the turf
but victories are slow in coming. He will still be in action but will still
find a way to miss the highest step.
The # 5 Secret O’Life 5/2 is the second choice and I think is the most serious threat. He just broke
his “maiden” on the distance of 1 mile. Yes, it took him 8 starts before
to win ! But often the horses gain confidence and win a few consecutive races thereafter.
The # 6 Blue Sky Venezuela 3/1 should love this distance.
In his last race on 5 Furlongs, he tried a late push but
despite rapid fractions, the horses that were ahead still had
gasoline in the tank. So, our choice finished 4th but had 2½ extra furlongs
like today, he would certainly have finished 2nd … and maybe first!
