2023 Buckeye Stallion Series kicks off Sunday

The 2023 Buckeye Stallion Series begins Sunday (April 30), with the first leg for 3-year-old filly trotters at Miami Valley Raceway. Five divisions will go to the gate with each race carrying a purse of $20,000.

Sixteen offspring of Long Tom highlight the 44 trotters while eight were sired by What The Hill.

Twenty-seven trainers will start sophomore fillies with Chris Beaver leading the way with six entries. Herman Hagerman and Annette Lorentzon will start three each. Eight other trainers will have two starters.

Monday afternoon (May 1), seven divisions of 3-year-old filly pacers will go to the post, while the sophomore colt trotters are scheduled to kick off their season Tuesday (May 2), with the colt pacers racing on Wednesday (May 3).

Post time on Sunday is 4 p.m.
