With three Grade I stakes highlighting what promises to be an outstanding 10-race card, fans will get the opportunity to take a shot at what will likely be a $5 million pool with a mandatory payout in the Memorial Day Pick Six Jackpot at Santa Anita on Monday.

With Monday’s Rainbow Six comprised of races five through 10, there is a Rainbow Six carryover from Sunday of $588,484.  Assigned post time for Monday’s fifth race, the Grade I, $500,000 Shoemaker Mile, is 6:18 p.m.

The Shoe Mile has attracted a field of six 3-year-olds and up, with trainer Michael McCarthy’s Smooth Like Strait pegged as the 4-5 morning line favorite with Flavien Prat up.

The Grade I, $400,000 Gamely Stakes, for fillies and mares at a mile and one eighth on turf, has been carded at race 10, with the Phil D’Amato-trained Going Global heading a field of eight as the 8-5 morning line favorite with Prat aboard.

In addition to the prospect of a $5 million Rainbow Six pool on Monday, there will also be a guaranteed pool of $500,000 in Santa Anita’s 50 cent Late Pick 5, which covers races six through 10.
