April series races start this week

At 0h04, on April 1, 2026 By Jeff Zidek, The Meadows

The second and final round of Spring Series races will begin this Wednesday (April 1) at The Meadows. While the recently concluded March series events were for 3- and 4-year-olds, the April races are limited to 3-year-olds. Series races will take place daily, with two preliminary legs followed by a final for the top point-earners.

Mike Wilder, one of The Meadows’ leading drivers each year, has made his return to Pennsylvania after spending the winter training in Florida with his father-in-law, Dan Altmeyer. The Altmeyer-Wilder Stable has several horses entered this coming week, and Wilder has already started picking up catch drives. He appeared in 12 races this past week and will continue to increase his presence.

Hollywood Casino at The Meadows is currently in its winter three-day-per-week schedule, with racing on Wednesday through Friday afternoons at 12:45 p.m. Thirteen races are carded for this Wednesday.
