Bythemissal, Adare Castle, Watch Me Now N supplement to Breeders Crown

The richest sophomore pacing male of the season, Bythemissal, Ontario Sire Stakes star sophomore trotting filly Adare Castle, and pacing mare Watch Me Now N have all been supplemented to their respective divisions of the US$6.7 million Breeders Crown championships at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Oct. 28 and Oct. 29.
Today’s noon deadline yielded the three supplements with the connections anteing up the required 12 percent of the advertised $600,000 sophomore purses — $72,000 — and Watch Me Now N paying the $42,000 to enter the $350,000 Mare Pace.
Bythemissal, an early season acquisition by Weaver Bruscemi, Rich Lombardo Racing, and Burke Racing in partnership with original owner Eric Good, has been nearly flawless this year in racking up $980,525 in 13 starts. His 11 wins for trainer Ron Burke include the Little Brown Jug, Adios, Milstein Memorial, and Ohio Sire Stakes final. The son of Downbytheseaside-Dismissal finished second in his two losses.
Adare Castle, who has raced almost exclusively at Woodbine Mohawk Park this year, has banked $509,883 for trainer/co-owner Mark Etsell in partnership with Robert Newton, Graham Hopkins, and Peter Porter. The daughter of Muscle Mass-Pacific Edge has finished no worse than second in 11 of 12 races this season, winning seven.
Watch Me Now N, who finished third in the Milton Stakes at Woodbine Mohawk Park in September, is owned by Curtin ANZ Stables and trained by Tony Alagna. The 6-year-old daughter of He’s Watching-Mach N Elle has won two of 13 races this season and earned $72,681.
Regular entries for all eligible Breeders Crown trotters and pacers are due by 10:30 a.m. Tuesday (Oct. 18), at the Woodbine Mohawk Park race office.
The contestants for the 12 Breeders Crown finals will be determined through elimination races, if needed, this Friday and Saturday night at Woodbine Mohawk Park. Eliminations for all 2-year-old events will be raced on Friday and eliminations for all 3-year-old and up events will be Saturday. Post time is 7 p.m. (EDT) both nights.
The US$6.7 million Breeders Crown finals will be raced on Friday (Oct. 28) for all 2-year-olds and Saturday (Oct. 29) for 3-year-olds and up. Post time is 7 p.m. both nights.
