It’s being billed as the Clash of the Titans when Light The Torch goes against Frozen Hanover in the 10th race feature pace Sunday (Sept. 1) at the Hippodrome 3R (H3R) in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec.

Racing fans will have to wait until the very last race on Sunday to witness this battle royale, pitting two of the best pacers currently in the province. The duel promises to be interesting, especially since it features two of the best stables, Marc-Andre Simoneau and Maxime Velaye and two of the best drivers at H3R in Pascal Berube and Stephane Brosseau.

Light The Torch (Always B Miki) has the biggest advantage starting from the one post position with Berube in the sulky. The four-year-old gelding, trained by Marc Andre Simoneau and co-owned with Jean Fontaine, has six wins this season and just last week won at Rideau Carleton Raceway in 1:54.2.

Frozen Hanover (Somebeachsomewhere) has a big disadvantage having to start from the far outside in post 8 for driver Stephane Brosseau.

Trained by Maxime Velaye for owner Guy Corbeil of Mirabel, Frozen Hanover is a five-year-old stallion with two wins this season. It was last week that he was able to lead from start to finish at H3R in 1:56.

There are seven other opponents in the race. Light The Torch races as an entry with Mickeymaksomespeed (post 8) with Jocelyn Gendron driving. Newcomer No Time At All (post 2) from Ontario has Simon Delisle in the bike.

Doc Houston (post 7) and driver Jessica Turenne has shown they can overcome outside posts and be right in the hunt their last three starts and GA Speed Gaby (post 3) for driver-trainer Alain Carrier has won two of his last three starts, the fastest in 1:57.1.

First race post time Sunday at H3R is 12:00 noon.
