Dayton Raceway gears up for 2023 meet

The 2023 racing season at Dayton Raceway is quickly approaching with the first card getting underway on Tuesday (Sept. 26) with post time at 4 p.m.

A total of 127 horses will compete over the course of 14 races.

Highlighting the opening card is a $13,000 conditioned trotting event where the 2-1 morning line favorite (leaving from post four) Simply Hill will seek her fourth win of the year after a runner-up finish in the Ohio Sire Stakes Consolation for 3-year-old trotting fillies. The daughter of What The Hill is owned by J P Racing for trainer Anette Lorentzon and driver Brett Miller.

The Tuesday opening card will also feature a $13,000 conditioned pace for fillies and mares. Hoofprintinthesand is the early 3-1 morning line favorite. She leaves from post five for trainer Jessica McCown and driver Cameron McCown. The 3-year-old daughter of Downbytheseaside will look to score her eighth win of the season after a successful tour of the Ohio Fair Circuit for owner Shawn Harville.
