Eddie Davis, 79, wins at Harrington Tuesday

At 10h47, on April 26, 2023 By HARRINGTON

Longtime Delaware driving champion Eddie Davis, now 79, won the first race on the Harrington Raceway program Tuesday (April 25) with Kathy Davis’ Missstarofnova ($27.80).

Davis, a winner of 8,635 races lifetime, only drives on a limited basis currently and notched the win with a mare trained by his son Martin. The homebred is a daughter of stallion Nova Artist and out of the dam Seamstresforthepan, both of whom the Davis family raced. Missstarofnova left the gate from post seven and eventually settled in third before angling wide in the stretch and getting the lead in the shadow of the wire in a tight photo over Spoiled Rotn Girl. It was her second career win.

Live racing at Harrington will continue on a Monday through Wednesday schedule. Post time is 4:30 p.m.
