Fifteen enter Grade 1 Adios Pace

Hollywood Casino at The Meadows announced Wednesday (July 16) that a total of 15 horses have entered this year’s Grade 1 Delvin Miller Adios Pace for the Orchids, presented by the Mickey Burke Family. The entries include one $35,000 supplement.

Two elimination races will take place this Saturday (July 19) during the 12:45 p.m. card. They are set as races 9 and 10.

Among the 15 entries are some of the sport’s top 3-year-olds, which have been competing in major stakes across North America. The supplemental entry, Rick Wink, has rarely been seen outside of Ohio and will be making the move to a larger stage for trainer Ron Burke. His supplemental entry fee will be added directly to the purse for final next Saturday, July 26.

The Burke Brigade leads the way with five of the 15 entries. Joining Rick Wink are, alphabetically, Papi’s Rocket, Railroad Station, Sippinonsearoc and Swingtown. Tony Alagna is the only other trainer with multiple Adios entrants, sending Fallout and Knockout Round.

Fallout, the fourth-place finisher in the Meadowlands Pace in New Jersey this past Saturday (July 12), is joined by two other top-four finishers from that event – Prince Hal Hanover, who was placed second on Saturday, and Papi’s Pistol, the third-place finisher. Prince Hal Hanover is trained by Dr. Ian Moore, while Papi’s Pistol is from the Sam DePinto Stable.

The top four finishers from each elimination will advance to the final, along with the fifth-place finisher with the highest career earnings according to U.S. Trotting Association records.

This Saturday’s card will also feature two divisions of the Roy Davis Pace, a Grand Circuit stake for 2-year-old pacing colts that often provides a preview of the following year’s Adios.
