Godiva Shadow Girl Dominates Quebec-Bred Series Mare Division

At 2h27, on June 8, 2026 By Laurent Sauvé

In her second start since November 2023, six-year-old pacing mare Godiva Shadow Girl delivered an impressive front-end performance Sunday at Hippodrome Trois-Rivières, capturing the second division of the Quebec-Bred Series for mares in 1:57.1 over a track rated good.

Driven by William Roy for trainer Lyne Asselin, Godiva Shadow Girl blasted off the gate from post three and never faced a serious challenge. She controlled the tempo through fractions of :27.4, :56.3 and 1:26.1 before opening up on the far turn and drawing away to a five-length victory. Kiss Me Bad finished second, while Better Kissthe Men rounded out the top three.

Godiva Shadow Girl paid $15.70 to win.

In the first split for mares, Silver Majesty lived up to her favourite status, scoring a convincing win in 1:58 with Denis St-Pierre in the sulky. Godiva Lady Morgan was second, followed by Serenity Road.

Among the male pacers, Bets Beach remained unbeaten in four starts this season with a 1:58.1 victory for driver Pascal Bérubé. The son of All Bets Off employed a different tactic this week, rallying from the back of the pack after leaving from post seven. With a sharp :58 closing half, Bets Beach held off Kingston Panic, who had tracked him for most of the race, to notch yet another victory, while Thrilling Times completed the trifecta.

The focus now turns to the older trotters, who return Thursday for the second leg of the Quebec-Bred Series. First post is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
