P L Ozzy will control his destiny in Gold Cup and Saucer 64, presented by The Atlantic Lottery, after drawing the rail in the official post position draw during the Tuesday evening program at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The Danny MacDonald trained pacer was a winner in Trial 3 Monday evening in 1:51.4 and Gold Cup and Saucer Ambassador Emma Richard randomly drew the Sunshine Beach 5-year-old’s envelope, then the post position one envelope during a draw conducted by Race Secretary Gerard Smith and Atlantic Province’s Harness Racing Commission Presiding Judge Derek Quinn.

Trial 1 1:50.4 winner Funatthebeach N will leave from post five while his stablemate Covered Bridge, a winner in Trial 2 in 1:51.2, has the trailing post nine.

The details were also unveiled for the C$10,000 ‘Smash The Track Record Bonus’ sponsored by Summerside Chrysler Dodge. If the 1:50.1 track record, co-held by YS Lotus and Sintra, is broken in Saturday evening’s C$100,000 Gold Cup and Saucer final the winner will receive a C$5,000 bonus while the remaining C$5,000 will be spread amongst the rest of the field.
