It Pays to Bet on Dark Horse

Odds are sports bettors will appreciate what Dark Horse Bets has to offer.

Sports bettors are very familiar with the term, ‘parlay.’ For some, ‘parlay’ is synonymous with ‘@#$^#,’ as many gamblers believe it’s a sucker’s bet. And maybe so, but it can make big pay days when they hit.

In horse racing you might not hear the term ‘parlay’ as much. But you do hear about ‘exotic’ bets, which are quite similar.

The Sports Geek website defines an exotic bet as “an extremely popular group of horse racing wagers that all include a component where you must wager on multiple horses.” There’s the key – multiple horses. What if we exchange the term ‘horses’ for ‘teams’? See? now we are back where we started – the elusive ‘parlay.’

Some of the exotic bets in horse racing have really cool names too. Like the Superfecta, Trifecta and Exacta. Basically, this means you need to pick the top four horses in a race, top three horses in a race, and top two in a race, respectively. But, beyond that, the longer the odds for your winning horse, for example, will make the payout bigger. It’s like betting on the underdog or the dark horse.

Which brings us to Dark Horse Bets.

Dark Horse Bets was launched earlier this year as a simplified horse racing wagering experience. Since its launch, we have seen some amazing exotic bets hit on the app. Let’s take a look.

One user hit a $10 exacta for $717 on Woodbine Thoroughbred racing.

Another player bet on Woodbine Mohawk Park harness racing and hit a $2 superfecta for $606.30! That’s pretty impressive. But not as impressive as someone who played a $2 superfecta on Woodbine Thoroughbred racing and it paid $1,625.60!!

There was also a nice trifecta win by another player who bet $2 on Woodbine Thoroughbred which netted $630.90.

Of course, hitting these exotic bets doesn’t come easy. Many sports bettors prefer betting on a single game, which is true in horse racing too. These single outcome bets can have nice payouts as well. For example, on September 11, 2021, a user bet $80 on a horse named Desperate Man to win. Well, the horse won the $1M Pepsi North America Cup, and the user won their bet, which paid $688. Not bad, not bad at all.

Whether you like betting straight win bets or exotic bets, you can definitely hit some nice payouts. And the payouts are even better if you can hit a dark horse.

If you haven’t tried it already, download Dark Horse Bets and give it a whirl. Just by signing up you will get $30 in your account.
