Joyride Hanover emerged as the fastest 2-year-old during the qualifying session at Harrah’s Philadelphia Tuesday morning (June 8), with the pacing filly rallying from the pocket and pacing her own back splits in :56.2-:27.3 in winning a 1:56.4 mile.

Joyride Hanover is a daughter of American Ideal out of JK Higher Power, she a full sister to the noted Open performer Highalator. Eddie Dennis drove and trains the promising miss for owner Eric Good.

The Betting Line colt C-bet Hanover took control of the pace in his event, then blazed home in :55.4 to complete a 1:57 package under the guidance of Todd Schadel, who is also the trainer and co-owner with Andy Miller Stable Inc. The winner’s dam is Cloris Hanover, a daughter of 1997 2-year-old Pacing Filly of the Year Clover Hanover.

Fastest freshman trotter in the morning session was A Perfect Helen, who came from the pocket and went her last half in :59.2 to win in 2:00.4. A daughter of Father Patrick-Asixpakfromperfect and thus a half-sister to $588,369 winner Aperfectyankee, A Perfect Helen is owned by Martin Garey, George Romanoff, William Richardson, and Jeff Gregory Inc. Gregory is the trainer/driver, a double role which also produced for him another win with the trotting miss Avacakes (Father Patrick-Avalicious), in 2:02.2.
