Judy’s Moni eyes third BSS win as Northfield hosts freshman filly trotters

Judy’s Moni is looking to equal Joyofmylife As with three Buckeye Stallion Series wins on the season as MGM Northfield Park hosts four $20,000 divisions in the fourth leg for freshman filly trotters on Sunday (Aug. 24). The BSS is part of a 16-race card that starts at 6 p.m.
With Joyofmylife As racing in the Ohio Sires Stakes on Saturday (Aug. 23) at Eldorado Scioto Downs, two-time BSS winner Judy’s Moni (Anthony MacDonald) is the headliner on Sunday. She is the 9-5 morning-line favorite in the fourth division. Trained by Jason McGinnis, the Ready For Moni filly posted a victory in each of the first two legs in 1:57.2 at Scioto and 1:59.4 at Northfield, respectively. She finished second in the third leg at Scioto and placed third in her other start this season. Triumphant Times (Kurt Sugg) is the 3-1 second choice. The Triumphant Caviar filly and Daren Harvey trainee has four wins and one third in five seasonal starts. She won a division in the second leg in a lifetime-best 1:59.4 and placed third in the third leg.
This division includes two other horses who have each posted one BSS victory this season in Dublins Breanna (Luke Hanners) and Rose Run Bridget (Emanuel Miller). Vernon Beachy trainee Dublins Breanna won in the second leg in 1:59.1, and the Herman Hagerman-trained Rose Run Bridget posted a victory in the opening leg in 2:01.2 before placing third in each of the next two legs.
Til The End As (Dan Noble) is the 6-5 morning-line favorite in the first division. The Guardian Angel As filly and Anette Lorentzon trainee won a division in the second leg in
2:00.2 after finishing as a runner-up in the first leg. Kira (Aaron Merriman) is the 4-1 second choice. Trained by Chris Beaver, the Enterprise filly has hit the board once in four seasonal starts, placing third.
Another Guardian Angel As filly, Guardian Doll (Ronnie Gillespie), is the 7-5 morning-line favorite in the second division, with Capturethephoto (Merriman) the 5-2 second choice. Trained by Gillespie, Guardian Doll was a runner-up in the third leg and has one win and two seconds in four seasonal starts. Capturethephoto is a Beaver trainee and Uncle Peter filly with two third-place finishes in four starts this season. Guardian Doll and Capturethephoto will leave side by side from posts four and five, respectively. Lorentzon trainee Wild As Her As (Noble), a winner in the third leg in 1:57.4, opened as the 9-2 third choice.
At 3-1, Readi Two (Sandy Beatty) is the slight favorite in the third division over 7-2 second choice Lynn Range (Miller) and 4-1 third choice Off The Rails (Noble). Trained by Beatty, Readi Two has three wins and one second in four seasonal starts. The Ready For Moni filly posted a win in the third leg in a lifetime-best 1:58 and was a runner-up in the opening leg. Lynn Range is trained by Hagerman. The In Range filly has five wins in seven starts this season with a lifetime best of 2:03.3. Lynn Range and Readi Two will leave side by side from posts four and five, respectively. Enterprise filly Off The Rails is trained by Deborah Swartz. She finished third in each of the first and second legs.
Two-time BSS winners Chasingstardust As and Hangtighthoney L are not entered in the fourth leg. They are entered in Saturday’s OSS with Joyofmylife As, as is Mockingbird As, who won a division in the third leg of the BSS after finishing as the runner-up to Judy’s Moni in each of the first two legs.
