Ken Middleton, the long-time voice of Woodbine Standardbred racing, has been hospitalized following a serious training accident.

Middleton, who trains his own stable in addition to the announcing role, was injured on Thursday morning, suffering cracks and breaks to multiple vertebrae. Middleton is currently at Hamilton General Hospital and is set to undergo surgery for the injuries this weekend.

Woodbine Entertainment and its racing community extends best wishes to Middleton for a full and safe recovery.
