Second elimination of this Serie for fillies and mare pacers non-winners of four races or $40,000. The final will be held on Friday, March 12 for a purse of $25,000.

Saturday, March 6

(T) Gotham Stakes                                         Grade 3                                Aqueduct           $300,000

The Gotham Stakes is the final local prep to the Wood Memorial Stakes and an official prep race for the Kentucky Derby. A number of Derby winners have competed in this race, including American Triple Crown winner Secretariat.

 

(T) Santa Anita Handicap                           Grade 1                                Santa Anita        $400,000

The Santa Anita Handicap is a Grade I race for horses four years old and up and was once considered the most important race for older horses in North America during the winter racing season.

(T) Tampa Bay Derby                                    Grade 2                                Tampa Bay         $400,000

The Tampa Bay Derby is a Grade 2 event since 2011, it is open to three-year-olds at a distance of one and one-sixteenth miles (​8 1⁄2 furlongs). The race has gained in popularity over the past few years and is now listed as an official prep race on the Road to the Kentucky Derby.

Second elimination of this Serie for horses and gelding pacers non-winners of four races or $40,000. The final will be held on Saturday, March 13 for a purse of $25,000.
