NYSS freshman filly trotters invade Tioga on Sunday

Tioga Downs plays host to two divisions of the New York Sire Stakes for 2-year-old trotting fillies on Sunday (July 14).

Royal Mission (Matt Kakaley) is the 5-2 morning line favorite in the $54,500 first division. The Chapter Seven-Swinging Royalty filly is trained by Marcus Melander. She finished a close second in her only lifetime start in a division of the NYSS at Yonkers.

Her toughest competition appears to be the Perry Simser trained Calculus Risk. The Devious Man-K Squared Hanover miss is one for one in her young career. She scored a NYSS win at Yonkers.

The unbeaten Chapvious (Jason Bartlett) is the clear-cut favorite to win the $54,500 second division. George Ducharme trains the Devious Man-Chaperess filly. She is two for two, getting NYSS wins at Buffalo and Yonkers.

The 14-race card starts at 1 p.m.
