One Eight Hundred delivers at Pocono in Weiss Series

At 0h02, on April 4, 2021 By POCONO DOWNS

One Eight Hundred, a 3-year-old colt who is the progeny of world champions Somebeachsomewhere-Economy Terror soared to take his first start in 2021 in 1:50.2 in one of five $17,500 prelimary rounds of the Bobby Weiss Series at The Downs at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs on Saturday (April 3). The other victors were Coalition Hanover, Tarkio, Mad Man Hill and Straight Talk.

Got his name because he cost $800,000 as a yearling, One Eight Hundred left right out to the lead and posted fractions of :28.2, :56.2, and 1:24.1. Then, he downshifted on the far turn and he buzzed the huge final quarter to make himself the fastest three-year-old in North America in 2021.

The Weiss Series for trotters was for the same purse amount as the pacers and the winners were Top Me Off, Tricky Dick, and Hoolie N Hector.

Pocono will race on Sunday at 5 p.m.
