Oney Hall headlines in Preferred at Woodbine Mohawk

Woodbine Mohawk will host 10 races this Monday (Dec. 13), with a seven-horse Preferred Handicap Trot serving as the headliner.

It looks like current Preferred king Perfetto took a week off so the way should be clear to Oney Hall. Robert McIntosh trainee only missed by a head to the streaking Perfetto last week and does not have to worry about that rival this time around. He sat the two-hole and nearly drew even with him in the stretch but that determined foe would not let him pass. This 19-time winner now gets back and will have his best pal Trevor Henry in the bike, who has driven him to 10 of his 19 career victories. He might assert himself as the boss of the division until Perfetto returns

Driven by Louis-Philippe Roy, Royalty Deal began a rally on the final turn and did well to grab the show spot behind the one above last week. She was only beaten a length at the wire and has now hit the board in five of her last six. This daughter of Royalty For Life was an impressive winner two back and tipped her hand for that effort the week before when she flew from off the pace to only get beat a length in third after trotting her back-half in 56 seconds with a final quarter in 27 seconds flat. She has been at her best since joining the barn of Meg Crone six starts ago and should make her presence felt again tonight.
