The reigning queen and top point earner of the division, Peace Talks, has drawn the rail in the first heat of the New York Sire Stakes worth $58,100 for 3-year-old pacing fillies at Monticello Raceway on Monday (Aug. 5).

The American Ideal filly has scored Sire Stakes wins at Tioga Downs and Buffalo and has banked $152,105 this season. Jason Bartlett will drive the filly for trainer Chris Ryder.

Unraced at 2, Stepabovetherest (post three-Braxten Boyd) took her lifetime mark of 1:49.4 in Sire Stakes competition at Vernon Downs earlier this year. The Huntsville miss is 3-1.

Tarrific (post three) has been installed the early morning line favorite in the second division worth $59,200. Bartlett will drive the Huntsville filly for trainer Ryder. She has won NYSS races this season at Tioga and Vernon Downs.

Camerican (post six-Jordan Stratton) has been the model of consistency all season with three wins in seven starts. Ron Burke trains the daughter of American Ideal.

A Few Choice Words has drawn the seven hole and is looking to extend her three-race win streak. Jim Marohn Jr. will drive the Courtly Choice sophomore for trainer Blake Macintosh.

Also on the card are three $20,000 heats of the Excelsior Stakes. Lady Saturn (post three-Marohn) and Tempville (post two–Tyler Buter) will square off in race one. Lady Saturn is the top point earner and has eight wins on the year and amassed $73,500 in earnings thus far.
