Post nine for Sintra in Gold Cup and Saucer final

After a dominating performance in Gold Cup and Saucer Trial 2, Sintra has drawn post nine for the C$100,000 final set for Saturday evening (Aug. 20) at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The draw for the C$100,000 Gold Cup and Saucer final, presented by Atlantic Lottery Corporation, took place during the Tuesday program at the capital oval. The posts for the nine-horse final were drawn by the Gold Cup and Saucer Ambassadors while being officiated by the Atlantic Provinces Harness Racing Commission with morning line favorite Sintra drawing the second-tier post nine for trainer Jamie Smith.

Trial 1 winner Ideal Perception will leave from post three while Trial 3 winner Patrikthepiranha A has post two.

Also announced on the Tuesday draw, Warren Ellis and family of Summerside Chrysler Dodge is sponsoring the Smash The Track Record promotion with an extra C$10,000 divided among the field if they break YS Lotus’ 1:50.1 track record in the process. The winner will receive C$5,000, second place finisher will receive C$1,500 and rest of the field being paid C$500.
