Quebec Circuit Introduces The Bay Derby De La Baie

The Circuit régional des courses de chevaux du Québec (CRCCQ) has announced a new racing event called the The Bay Derby de la Baie, which will take place later this month in Nouvelle, located in Eastern Quebec, with the aim of inviting horse owners in the Maritimes to experience racing in Quebec.

The Quebec fair circuit’s one-mile race is open to all Standardbred horses aged three to 17 years old (fillies and mares draw inside). Eliminations for $1,200 will be held on Wednesday, July 27 followed by a $6,000 final as well as consolation(s) on Saturday, July 30.

A minimum amount of $150 per participating horse is guaranteed for the eliminations, final and consolation(s). In addition, owners of horses from the Maritimes will get an additional $50 for the eliminations and $200 for the final and consolation(s).

Nominations must be made no later than Friday, July 15 at 5 p.m. The nomination fee is $25 and the starting fee for eliminations is $175. There is no starting fee required for the final and consolation(s).

Entries can be made by contacting the race secretary at Hippodrome 3R or online on the Standardbred Canada website.
