Jockey Rafael Hernandez will be sidelined for three to five weeks after going down in a spill in Saturday’s nightcap at Woodbine, according to agent Tony Esposito.

“We thought he should have a check up, and they found a small fracture,” Esposito announced on Twitter Monday.

Hernandez was Woodbine’s leading rider last year and was voted the Sovereign Award as Canada’s outstanding jockey in 2020.
