Real slugfest in Future Stars Series

The gloves will come off at the Hippodrome 3R Sunday (Aug. 28) with the third and final leg of the Future Stars Series taking place for two-year-old pacing colts and fillies.
The youngster will be battling for points in order to make their respective $55,000 finals on Super Sunday at H3R (Sept. 11).
What may be the biggest slugfest takes place in the $7,500 4th race, the first of two legs of the series for the pacing colts.
Little Diamond (Sportswriter) is the morning line favorite and rightly so as he is on a three-race winning streak for driver William Roy. His last two starts he won in the series, the fastest last week with a 2:01.1 triumph.
Little Diamond is trained by Guy Roy for owner and breeder Richard Desrosiers of Massueville.
Kansas Panic (Sunshine Beach) cut loose in his last start, only the second start of his career, and won impressively in the series in 2:02.1. He is trained by Francis Richard for owner and breeder Brian Paquet of Quebec City and will start from post four for driver Francis Picard.
Albert Alpha (Hes Watching) may be winless in his five career starts for trainer Sylvain Tremblay, but the colt has been second in his last three starts and always close in the hunt. He will start from post three for driver Pascal Berube. He is also a homebred from the Alpha Stable and is co-owned with Anne Marie Demers and Yves & Yvon Laprise.
The second colt division in the series is the 6th race where Telllaurailoveher is the slight favorite for driver Jonathan Lachance from post three. While none of the starters in the race have a pari-mutuel win yet, Telllaurailoveher has been race timed in 2:00, 2:00.3 and 2:00.4.
The fillies get underway in their two $7,500 divisions of the series in the 8th race where Godiva Shadow Girl (Shadow Play) heads the field for driver Robert Shepherd.
A winner in four of her five starts, Godiva Shadow Girl’s lone loss came to Double Gum, also by Shadow Play, who starts from the rail.
Last week Godiva Shadow Girl wired the field in a two-year-old pace at H3R in a lifetime best 2:00 for trainer Lyne Asselin. She was bred and is owned by Raymond Larose of St-Henri-De-Levis.
Double Gum is the fastest winner in the field and will be driven by Jocelyn Gendron. She won the second leg of the series at H3R with a 1:58.3 mile in defeating Godiva Shadow Girl. Double Gum is trained and owned by Pierre Marc Longpre of Chelsea.
The second filly division is the 10th race where Pocahontas Du Lac (Betterthancheddar) heads the lineup. She was bred by none other than Louis-Philippe Roy and is co-owned by LPR with his brother, Pierre-Luc Roy along with Maude Larouche and Jean Allaire, all of Quebec City.
Starting from post five, Pocahontas Du Lac has won her last two starts for driver PLRand three of her last four outings, the fastest a 1:58.2 mark in the Prospect Series at Grand River Raceway for driver Sylvain Filion.
Her main competition will come from the entry of YS Sensationalcity (Keystone Velocity) in post 6 and YS Poisson Davril (Sportswriter) from post nine.
Both fillies have a win and a second in the series for trainer Yannick Martel. YS Sensationalcity will be driven by Stephane Gendron with Kiwon Waldron driving YS Poisson Davril.
First race post time Sunday is 12:00 noon.
