Roy sweeps Harvest finals

Sophomore colts and geldings squared off in the Harvest Series finals on Friday night at Woodbine Mohawk and Urntrouble Hanover prevailed in an exciting finish for driver Louis-Philippe Roy. The son of Kadabra used a closing kick of :28 to win by 2-1/2 lengths in 1:54.4 over Duke Lavictoire. Urntrouble Hanover improved his 2021 record to 5-2-0 from 16 starts with the win.

Roy completed his Harvest sweep just two races later, guiding Control Heaven to a three-quarter of a length victory in the pace final. The Chantal Mitchell trainee cleared to the lead after an opening quarter in :26.4 and never looked back edging away to win in 1:52.1. Take A Gamble was second.

Sent off as the 2-5 favourite, the son of Control The Moment now boasts a 4-3-1 record from 19 trips.
