Special Way seeks to exert her will at Red Mile

At 0h03, on August 29, 2022 By RED MILE

On Monday (Aug. 29), The Red Mile will host one $80,000 third-round leg of the Kentucky Championship series, one $30,000 third-round leg of the Kentucky Commonwealth series, and three $15,000 third-round legs of the Golden Rod series for freshman trotting fillies. Special Way seeks the second win of her career — and in this series — in the sole Championship division.

A daughter of Walner-Special Hill, Special Way leaves from post position six in the field of eight in the eighth race on the card. The filly will be steered by her conditioner, Åke Svanstedt, and is 3-1 on the morning line.

Special Way enters this event after breaking her maiden in the second round of this series on Aug. 15, stopping the clock in 1:52.2. The second- and third-place finishers from that event, Life Itself and Mambacita, are also in this field.
