The Trophée des Éleveurs gets underway Thursday at Hippodrome Trois-Rivières as the three-year-old trotters begin their quest for points that will earn them a berth in the prestigious late-summer finals, where the richest purses of the season will be up for grabs.
Last year’s Coupe de l’Avenir winner, Magic Liam, headlines the colt and gelding division in Race 3. He will leave from post 6 in search of his first victory in six starts this season. The son of Muscle Mass has campaigned exclusively in Ontario so far, facing some formidable competition. Marie-Claude Auger will be in the sulky, while his chief rival is expected to be Kinnder Rolex, who enters the race off an impressive 2:01 victory in his most recent outing over the Trois-Rivières oval.
The fillies will compete in two divisions, scheduled as Races 5 and 8.
In the opening division, Trixie Charm has been installed as the morning-line favorite after posting a career-best 1:58.2 mile at Grand River. However, Kenogami Fancy is the fastest filly in the field, boasting a lifetime mark of 1:56.4, set at Woodbine Mohawk on May 11.
With a record of four wins and five runner-up finishes in nine starts, Silver Pride ships to Québec after dominating Ontario’s Prospect Series. She will headline the second division with Denis St-Pierre in the sulky. Abby Rose Men, winner of the 2025 Coupe de l’Avenir, is certain to provide a stern challenge in the six-horse field.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early to watch Paradise Moni, winner of the 2026 Québec-Bred Series, compete in Race 2. The son of International Moni will be looking for his sixth consecutive victory while surpassing the $150,000 mark in career earnings. His powerful late rallies in recent starts have thrilled his supporters.
Fans are invited to attend the 16th live program of the season, with first post set for 5:30 p.m.
