Tioga welcomes NYSS freshman male pacers on Sunday

Tioga Downs plays host to three divisions of the New York Sire Stakes for 2-year-old pacing colts and geldings on Sunday (Aug. 15).

Early Action (Jason Bartlett) is the 2-1 morning line favorite in the $34,200 first division of the NYSS. Joe Holloway trains the Huntsville-Fashion Katie youngster. He has a win and a second in three lifetime starts.

The second morning line choice is the Gary Messenger trained KJ Hunter (Matt Kakaley). The Huntsville-Winsmith Jess freshman has a win, a second, and a third in five career starts.

In the $33,600 second division Forest Blu (Tyler Buter) is the one to beat. John Butenshoen trains the Roll With Joe-Lima Fairest male. He has three career victories including NYSS wins at Monticello and Saratoga.

His chief rival is the Erv Miller trained Flip My Chip (Marcus Miller). The Heston Blue Chip-Restive Hanover gelding has two wins in four starts including a NYSS win at Monticello.

The Erv Miller trained Stretch The Line (Tyler Buter) should be the big favorite in the $34,200 third division. The Huntsville-Jessalilmixup juvenile has four wins so far this season, including NYSS wins at Saratoga and Monticello.

The Monica Krist trained Pickup Man Hanover (Billy Dobson) is the morning line second choice. The Huntsville-Pilgrim Witchie colt has two lifetime victories, including a NYSS win at Monticello.

The 10-race card starts at 1p.m.
