A special horse

At 9h00, on November 2, 2018 By Christian Gendron

On November 2nd at Churchill Downs (Breeders’ Juvenile Cup, $ 2,000,000 Scholarship) in the 9th race (1 M 1/16 | Dirt), a Win Placed Show on No 11 Code Of Honor (5/1), an Exacta Box on 11 with 5,6,8,9,12, a Trifecta on 11 (1st and 2nd) with 5,6,8,9,12 and a Trifecta on 9,11 with 5,6,9,11 with 5,6,8,9,11,12. This race is rarely won by a favorite. I believe that percentage is 11 % and it is still possible that this scenario occurs. No 6 Complexity (5/2) has two starts and two solid victories and if we rely on the results, it should be there at the finish line but this race is full of speed and many have never run over this distance and some will pay the price. No 9 Game Winner (8/5) is the big favorite. He is three in three, won the American Pharoh G1 stake, same result in the Future G1 stake. Trained by Bob Baffert, this horse is up for grabs because he has reached his full potential, having raced on different distances but still increasing the distance in lengths and Rosario will be back as Jockey. Among the other options that are interesting, No 12 Gummental Gray (10/1) has just finished second at Game Winner even having made missteps at the start, No 8 Standard deviation (12/1) and No 5 Well Defined can surprise as neglected. No 11 Code Of Honor (5/1) is my choice, usually Claude Shug McGaughey is patient with two years old and prefers secondary races but this Code Of Honor must be special to make it run at Breeders with only two starts in life. This horse easily broke his maiden in August and he finished second at Complexity in the G1 Champagne in Belmont, but he hit the barrier at the start in addition to missing a stride that nearly disarmed his jockey who was Eric Cancel but today, John Valasquez is back, and he still bypassed the majority of the group to finish good second despite a mile fast.

Jockey: John Valasquez 20 % – Coach: Claude McGaughey 16 %
