An exciting Prix d’Été !

At 9h00, on August 19, 2018 By Christian Gendron

On August 19th at Hippodrome 3R in the 10th race (Prix d’Été), a Win and Placed bet on No 6 Miso Fast as well as a Trifecta on 6th with 1,2,3,4,7 and another Trifecta on 6 with 1,7 with all.

Here is my analysis of horses:

No 1 Eddard Hanover: a lot of speed at the start but what will the strategy be? Will he leave the way open to 1A or his term will be a fast first quarter if Miso fast and Western Joe want the lead.

No 1A Filibuster Hanover: the favorite of the race also under the tutelage of Ron Burke. This horse is better in the foreground and I am sure that Louis-Philippe Roy will want to be ahead and if it is he who attacks at the start, No 1 will let him go. This horse will be ready but he shows us no win for two months and despite a perfect mile on his last start, Western Joe destroyed it in the last fifty feet. It will be necessary for LPR to make a single movement in the race otherwise it could run out of fuel.

No. 2 Beckhams Z Tam: Like many four years old, he’s having a tough season versus older horses.

No. 3 American Wiggle: has improved his times since joining the team of Richard Moreau but the opposition is too strong.

No 4 Blood Line: I know he is under the tutelage of Jimmy Takter but this horse shows two victories in twenty-eight starts and a few lack lately.

No 5 Modern Reflection: another protégé of Richard Moreau who will have to be at his best to pick up a check.

# 6 Miso fast: former protégé of Ron Burke now under the leadership of Virgil Morgan. He is subtracted from the Lasix today and we have a difficult race from where he was stuck outside the start of the race until three quarters of a mile passed in 1:21. This horse likes the lead and if Daniel Dubé uses this tactic, we risk seeing a track record half a mile.

No 7 Western Joe: some say he’s better from the back but not with Doug McNair who is very aggresive on a sulky and he will want to place himself in 8th position so he may have sparks in the beginning of race.

No 1A Filibuster Hanover: horse to beat and the odds may be at its minimum. Despite all his talent, I see some risks with this horse. He likes to have the lead and it may come from everywhere and given its recent form, it should not be that Louis-Philippe Roy need to use it twice. No 7 Western Joe is in excellent shape but the 8th position at 3R is hard to overcome. He will need a quick flow outside, a third way to predict. No 6 Miso Fast is also in a difficult position, but Daniel Dubé knows this track and will want to set up from the start. And if the after-effects of his last start are dispelled, he will give strong opposition.

Proposed bet: August 19th, Hippodrome 3R, race 10
