No 3 Dawn Lightning (5/2) has just won on this distance in 1:39:46, and was in the middle of the pack. He made a quick movement between the quarter and half to surprise the favorite who was first and offered no resistance. No 1 Special Consel has won coast to coast in 1:38:93 but without really being ordered. He was first and the jockey took the others’ pulse and once in the stretch line he won very easily and he seemed to be fresh and available for today’s race.
