Batavia Downs 2026 winter meet starts Tuesday

Live harness racing action returns to Batavia Downs on Tuesday (Jan. 13) as the 2026 winter meet gets underway at the oldest lighted harness track in North America.

The January/February session will take place every Tuesday and Thursday through Feb. 5, with post time at 3 p.m.

This is the fourth year in a row that The Downs will host this overcoat meet and Nicolle Fortes, who is the Director of Live Racing, is happy to see the action getting back underway.

“We’re excited and proud to welcome fans back to Batavia Downs for winter racing in Western New York! We look forward to providing exciting live racing, great entertainment, and the welcoming atmosphere our fans have come to know and love,” said Fortes.

The wagering menu will remain the same as the recently completed 2025 meet, with a wide variety of betting options each night. On a 10-race program, besides win, place and show in every race, there will be three daily doubles, 10 exactas, 10 trifectas, nine superfectas, two Pick-3s, two Pick-4s, one Pick-5 and one Jackpot Super High Five, all with low minimum wagers.
