Cal Expo kicks off next Friday

At 0h11, on November 14, 2023 By CAL EXPO

The Cal Expo 47-night meeting kicks off this Friday (Nov. 17) with a 12-race program on tap.

Leading trainer Quentin Schneider is back to defend his title with a barn of 22 while last meet’s leading driver Luke Plano has returned with a powerful barn of his own.

Cal Expo would also like to welcome back Nick Roland and Jake Cutting after a brief hiatus, while new faces include Brett Erickson from Iowa who has shipped west with a dozen performers and Winter Asher-Stalbaum is ready to compete with his barn of 10.

Many California harness fans will remember Winter’s dad, Larry Stalbaum, who raced at Los Alamitos in the 1990s.
