Close to a first victory…

At 9h00, on July 19, 2018 By Christian Gendron

On July 19th on the Del Mar track at the 1st race (Maiden | 5½ Furlongs | main), a bet on No 5 No Thanks Erik. At the beginning of a meeting in Del Mar, I wish to please a good friend and a big fan of this track, Lee Kleinmaier, who lives in San Diego, just minutes from Del Mar. In this Maiden race (no win yet in career), No 5 No Thanks Erik is the only one to make his start for Doug O’Neill who excels with young horses. This race seems perfect for this horse. The opposition seems very weak and the only real threat seems to come from No 7 Jellybeankristine who in three starts could not do better than a 4th place in 5¼ lengths of the winner.

Jockey: Mario Gutierrez 14% — Coach: Doug O’Neill 19%

Proposed bet: July 19th, Del Mar, race 1

Win and Placed: $ 10 on horse # 5

(Win: the chosen horse must finish first at the finish line)

(Placed: the chosen horse must finish among the first two at the finish line)

Exacta: $ 3 on horses 5 with 3.7 (5 with 3 – 5 with 7)

Exacta: $ 1 on 3.7 horses with 5 (3 with 5 – 7 with 5)

(Exacta: Choose two horses that must finish first and second, in the chosen order)

Trifecta: 1 in 5 with 3.7 with 1,3,4,6,7 (5 with 3 with 1 – 5 with 3 with 4 – 5 with 3 with 6 – 5 with 3 with 7 – 5 with 7 with 1 – 5 with 7 with 3 etc)

Trifecta Key: 1 in 5 with 1,3,4,7 with 1,3,4,7 (5 with 1 with 3 – 5 with 1 with 4 – 5 with 1 with 7 – 5 with 3 with 1 – 5 with 3 with 4 etc.)

(Trifecta: Choose the three horses that will finish in order at the finish line)
