Dexter Dunn to drive in the Elitlopp

Dexter Dunn has been booked to drive the Dutch-owned Gio Cash in the Elitlopp at Solvalla on May 31.

This will be the second time Dunn travels to Sweden to compete in Europe’s biggest mile race.

In 2023, he drove the Norwegian-trained Stoletheshow, who qualified for the final after finishing fourth in his elimination heat, but ended up unplaced in the final.

Dunn also had two other drives that year, with his best result being a second-place finish behind Kitty Hawk in the 3-Year-Old Elite.

The 7-year-old German-bred, Dutch-owned, and Swedish-trained Gio Cash became the 12th horse invited to compete in the Elitlopp.

Gio Cash holds a mark of 1:50.1, set in a victory last August. Most recently, Gio Cash and trainer Daniel Wäjersten finished third in the Finlandia-Ajo at Vermo Racetrack in Helsinki.
