Gilda Marie against the odds

At 4h05, on July 15, 2018 By Christian Gendron

Sunday, July 15, Belmont Park, One Thousand Turf, Race 4, No. 5 Gilda Marie

It’s the last day of the week. Perhaps you have lost, maybe you have won, but no matter what your situation is, you have to bet on against the odds.

No. 5 Gilda Marie gives us what we need. It is placed at 12 for 1 by the local handicapper, which means that it is disregarded, but mostly could be lucrative. Gilda Marie will be in its second start for life and this group shows no speed. The majority of the group’s horses prefer to come back from behind without taking command quickly, but the 27-foot removable fence may be detrimental.

In her last race, Gilda Marie completely missed her start by staying stuck in the barrier but still managed to get back to the group, thanks to very fast fractions of 22 and 44 during the first two furlongs. In addition, Irad Ortiz will take its back.

Jockey: Irad Ortiz Jr 22% – Trainer: Chris Englehart 20%

Proposed bet: July 15, Belmont Park, Course 4

Win: No 5

Place: 5

Show: 5

Exacta: 5,1 and 5,3 and 5,7

(Win: Choose a horse that will win the race.)(Place: Choose a horse that will finish first or second.) (Show: Choose a horse that will finish first, second or third.)(Exacta: Choose 2 horses that will finish first and second, in selected order.)
