Golddiamond Continues His Preparation

With the Trophée des Éleveurs set to get underway, three-year-old pacer Golddiamond continues his preparation for the event. He will be seeking his fifth victory in as many starts this season on Sunday afternoon at Hippodrome 3R.
Starting from post seven with Stéphane Brosseau in the sulky, the son of Castlewash is enjoying an outstanding rookie campaign. In his very first career start, he posted an impressive victory in 1:59.3 despite racing on the outside from start to finish. On June 28, he recorded a career-best mile of 1:57.1, capped by a final quarter in :28.4. Among his rivals will be Wicked Irish, who finished second behind him in that victory.
In the day’s featured event, 10-year-old veteran pacer Enavant returns to action and, judging by his most recent qualifying effort, he has lost none of his determination. Last Sunday, the son of Somebeachsomewhere, trained by Maxime Velaye, qualified in 1:55.2 after pacing his final half-mile in :57. Enavant will be aiming for the 25th victory of his career and is just a few thousand dollars shy of the $300,000 earnings milestone. Antoine Desrochers will be in the sulky.
