Gulfstream Begins Week with 150k Rainbow 6 Guaranteed Pool

Live racing returns to Gulfstream Park with an eight-race program Thursday and a $150,000 guaranteed pool in the 20-cent Rainbow 6.

First race post time is 12:50 p.m. The Rainbow 6, which will include two turf races, will begin at approximately 1:54 p.m. with the third race, a $6,250 claiming event at 5 ½ furlongs with a 9-5 morning-line favorite in Beeboo, a 3-year-old gelding trained by Gilberto Zerpa who just broke his maiden for $12,500. Malibu Mandate (5-2) enters the race off a second-place finish against similar company. Paco Lopez is aboard. Zerpa will also saddle Thorover.

Jockey Edgard Zayas enters the week on top of the leader standings with 41 wins, four ahead of Edwin Gonzalez and five ahead of Paco Lopez. Saffie Joseph Jr. leads all trainers with 25 wins, well ahead of Mark Casse with 10.
