The Quebec Jockey Club recently announced an additional day of live racing to its 2023 calendar at the Hippodrome 3R along with two new $60,000 stakes events.

There is also a post time change for the final Friday program, Sept. 29 with post time at 3:00 pm and then a special Saturday afternoon card on October 7 with post time at 1:00 pm.

The Saturday, October 7 program will be dedicated to the finals of the Quebec Regional Fair Circuit that has taken place all summer long at tracks throughout Quebec.

The two new $60,000 stakes races are the Brian Paquet Memorials and will be held on Sunday, October 1 with post time at 12:00 noon.

Both memorials are for three-year-old and older pacers, one division for the horses and one division for the fillies and mares. Preference will be given to Quebec-bred horses, then Quebec-owned horses and then it becomes Open to any horses from Canada or the USA. Each division will feature just eight starters.

Also on that afternoon card will be the $30,000 Lucien Bombardier Pace for two-year-old fillies.
