Marie-Claude Auger a driving force at Hippodrome 3R

Harness racing driver Marie-Claude Auger currently leads the driver standings at the Hippodrome 3R with Pascal Berube after scoring a driving triple on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at the Trois-Rivieres, Quebec half mile racetrack.
With her driving double on opening day last week, Auger now has five wins, and is tied with reigning driving champion Pascal Berube, who won four races on the card.
Auger started off the afternoon card by winning the 3rd race pace with Windsun Diego (All Bets Off) in 1:56.3. He paid $5.70 to win and is also trained by Auger.
Then in the 4th race trot, Auger won again with a horse from her stable with Sensi Amnesia (Muscle Mass) in 2:00.2, paying $3.40 to win.
Her biggest score of the day came in the 9th race Preferred Pace with 5-1 Uncontrollable (Control The Moment). They shot right to the lead from post five and never looked back as Auger drove the six-year-old gelding to a three-quarter length triumph in 1:57.1 over race favorite and last week’s top class winner, Thedoginthefight (Jocelyn Gendron) with Born A Rebel (Jessica Turenne) third.
It was the second win this year for Uncontrollable, who is trained by Louis Philippe Turcotte for owners Steve Perreault and Johanne Dechamplain, both of Mont-Joli, Que. He paid $12.40 to win.
The tote board at H3R was rocked in the 8th race trot as 43-1 La Bromontoise (Angus Hall) and owner-breeder-trainer-driver Jerome Lombart of Bromont, Que. were able to lead from start to finish with a two and one-half length triumph in 2:00.2.
It was the first win in three starts this year for the five-year-old mare and the time of the mile equaled her lifetime mark. She paid $88.00 to win.
Track Notes: Pascal Berube had the hot hands Sunday with his four winners followed by Marie-Claude Auger with three wins. Auger led the trainers with two wins. Live harness racing resumes at the Hippodrome 3R next Sunday, May 19 with first race post time at 12:00 noon.
