Meadows Introduces Lucky 7 Wager

At 0h02, on February 21, 2024 By THE MEADOWS

The Meadows will debut a new wager on Wednesday (March 6), featuring a 15 percent takeout and a $1 base.

The Meadows’ Lucky7, a Pick-7 wager, will take place daily in races 3-9. There will be a 100 percent carryover of the net pool daily if no one correctly picks all seven winners.

Last month, The Meadows reached out to horseplayers around the nation and asked them to participate in a survey about various aspects of racing and wagering. The new wager is a response to those answers.

“The comments we received showed a desire for a wager like this,” said Meadows Director of Racing Scott Lishia. “The dollar base and 15 percent takeout, combined with large fields that we have been featuring this year, we believe makes it a challenging yet hittable wager.”

Additional plans for the Lucky7 include partnering with the United States Trotting Association’s Strategic Wagering program and the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association to offer pool guarantees. Full details will be announced soon.
