Tioga Downs welcomes two divisions of the New York Sire Stakes for 3-year-old trotting colts and geldings on Saturday (Aug. 21).

Ahundreddollarbill (Andrew McCarthy) is clearly the one to beat in the $56,000 first division. Tony Alagna trains the Chapter Seven gelding. He has had a phenomenal sophomore season with seven wins in eight starts. He won the $205,500 Empire Breeders Classic earlier this season, plus has won four legs of the NYSS. The gelding has banked nearly $370,000 this season.

His toughest competition could be the Ake Svanstedt trained Ambassador Hanover (Scott Zeron). The colt by Chapter Seven has three wins so far this season. He was second to Ahundreddollarbill in the EBC and was second in the $500,000 Yonkers Trot final. The colt has won almost $400,000 in purses this year.

The David Dewhurst trained Dewey Arnold (Jason Bartlett) is the 2-1 morning line favorite in the $55,000 second division. The gelding by Deweycheatumnhowe has nine wins in 16 starts this season and owns 11 career victories. He has won $171,995 in his career.

Seven Nation Army (Mark MacDonald) is the 5-2 second choice. Ray Schnittker trains the Chapter Seven colt. He has two wins in 2021 and has been to the winner’s circle three times in his career.

The 12-race card starts at 6:15 p.m.
