Vernon Downs plays host to the Big Apple Finals for 2-year-olds in all four classes on Saturday (October 11). They will all compete for a purse of $250,000.

Fragment (Jason Bartlett) is the overwhelming favorite in the Big Apple Final for pacing colts & geldings. He was dominant in his elimination race winning in 1:51.1. Hunting Glory (Jordan Stratton) is the second morning line choice with his elimination win. Lakewood Nick adds driver Yannick Gingras and could be right there in the end as well.

The final for trotting colts & geldings looks to be wide open. Titans Mischief (Matt Kakaley) was made the 2-1 morning line favorite. He is coming off a second-place finish in the eliminations. He has three wins and seven seconds in his 10 career starts. Read The Room (Dylan Huckabone-Miller) won the elimination and is a horse to be reckoned with. Elimination winner Twin B Seven Sins (Tyler Buter) and New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) winner AI (Yannick Gingras) will be strong contenders as well.

NYSS winner Liberty Style (Jason Bartlett) is the morning line favorite for the pacing filly’s final. Six-time winner Long Shore (Yannick Gingras) is coming off an elimination win last week and should be right there in the end. Odds On Monetary (Ridge Warren) won the other elimination and should be a top contender as well.

Nezuko Kamado S (Jason Bartlett) leads the nine-horse field for the filly trotter’s final after her easy win in her elimination. NYSS winner Sharp Seven (Jeff Gregory) should be her main rival. Storybook Love (Todd Ratchford) won the other elimination and could return to the Vernon Downs winner’s circle again. The 15-race cards starts at 5:05 p.m.
