Quebec Jockey Club Cancels Prix d’Été

At 0h05, on May 30, 2025 By QJC

It is with great regret that the Quebec Jockey Club has come to the conclusion that it must cancel the Prix d’Été. Following numerous discussions and exchanges with the Board of Directors and the race office, this decision was the most prudent and responsible.

The Prix d’Été had been announced for the end of 2024 before experiencing various financial and political factors that are hampering the event. The racetrack experienced a significant tax increase from the City of Trois-Rivières at the end of January. Furthermore, Canadian betting is down across the country, and Quebec is no exception. The instability with our southern neighbours makes border crossings much more complex.

The QJC is closely monitoring betting trends to make the best decisions in the future. We will keep you informed of further developments throughout the summer.
