Woodbine Mohawk Park is set to ramp up its Grand Circuit 2-year-old stakes with the Tompkins-Geers first up followed by a new format and increased purses for the Dream Maker, Whenuwishuponastar, Millard Farms and Pure Ivory.

The Tompkins-Geers and four other 2-year-old stakes are all open events and offer strong racing opportunities for American-breds and for Ontario-eligible horses looking at races outside sires stakes.

The Tompkins-Geers for 2-year-old pacers will take place Friday (July 10), while the Tompkins-Geers for rookie trotters is set for the following weekend (July 17, 18).

As for Dream Maker, Whenuwishuponastar, Millard Farms and Pure Ivory, all four events have switched from a series format (two preliminary legs and a final) to eliminations and a final. The events also switched from late closing to early closing, with nominations in February and sustaining payments in the months following.

Under the new format, the Dream Maker and Whenuwishuponastar for 2-year-old pacers are estimated to have a final purse of $125,000 each, while the Millard Farms and Pure Ivory for trotters are both estimated at $150,000.
