T C Scandal likes the view at Hippodrome 3R

When T C Scandal first came to race at the Hippodrome 3R last week from Toronto, she must have enjoyed the view as she wired the field in the mares Preferred Pace and seeks a repeat performance this Sunday (Oct. 24).
It was the first time that driver Pascal Berube had ever driven T C Scandal. But that did not mean that Berube did not know about the mare.
“Yes, indeed it was my first race with her last week,” Berube said. “But I had seen her race a few times at Mohawk and I liked her.”
What did trainer Yves Tessier have to say to you about the six-year-old mare by Sportswriter?
“On Sunday morning on my way to the races,” Berube explained. “I spoke with Yves and he told me that she was here (at H3R) to cheer herself up because she had had some difficult starts in her last races. He said she had had a good week and she was ready to race.”
Owned by Francois Morin of Beauceville, T C Scandal has four wins in 31 starts, but had not earned a check in her last four starts.
“In her last 10 starts she has paced in 1:52 on several occasions,” Berube added. “So, I was confident she could stand up to the best of Trois Rivières despite her last 4 races not being very good.”
Last week at H3R, Berube sent T C Scandal right to the front and never looked back as they won by two lengths in 1:57.
“As for Sunday,” Berube said. “I don’t know how it will be, but I know that her trainer always does a good job with his horses and that François Morin, her owner, likes to have competitive horses. So, it is an advantage for me to drive horses for a team like this one. We just have to do the work on the track.”
T C Scandal starts from post four in the 8th race feature.
Who will T C Scandal be competing against? Well, seven of the horses entered lost to T C Scandal last week. Sieras Rose (post 2), moves up in class off wiring the field last week in 1:59.1. She will be driven by Pierre-Luc Roy.
First race post time Sunday is 12:10 pm. For a free race program, visit www.hippodrome3r.ca.
