Vernon Downs welcomes two divisions of the New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) for sophomore pacing fillies on Saturday (Aug 14).

Heart Of Mine (Scott Zeron) will be the huge favorite in the $55,000 first division of the NYSS. Linda Toscano trains the filly by Roll With Joe. She has won eight of her nine starts in 2021 including NYSS wins at Batavia, Yonkers, Buffalo, and Saratoga. She has earnings of nearly $177,000 this season and over $300,000 in her career.

Her chief rival appears to be the John McDermott trained Think Of Galaxies (Mark MacDonald). The filly by So Sureal has two wins this season and four career victories.

Test of Faith (David Miller) should be the one to beat in the $56,000 second division of the NYSS. The Brett Pelling filly by Art Major has had a brilliant career so far. She is five for six this season and 13 for 15 in her career. Her five wins this season include the $150,000 Park MGM Pace at Yonkers. She has won almost $180,000 this year. She has amassed over $679,000 in her career.

The second morning line choice is the Tom Fanning trained Summer Rae (Jason Bartlett). The filly by Roll With Joe has NYSS wins at Batavia and Buffalo. She has three total wins this season and five career victories.

The 12-race card starts at 6:10 p.m.
