Special Breeders Crowns with four handicap races on November 3rd at Churchill Downs.

Race 3, Breeders Crowns Sprint purse of 1 million (7 Furlongs | Dirt)

Trifecta: 5,13 with 5,6,8,13 with 1,5,6,7,8,13

No 5 Golden Mischief (10/1)

For those who love the favorites, No 13 Marley’s Freedom (8/5) was going nowhere but he joined the team of the famous Bob Baffert (42 %) and since then, this filly is three in three with victories in all Grade 3,2,1 races and she is to beat but the return will be minimal. No 1 Selcourt (4/1) has already beaten No 13 in March and this filly seems powerful but it will be its first start since this victory which is more than 6 months…too risky bet. Then comes a group of four horses with some possibilities: No 5 Golden Mischief, No 6 Chalon, No 7 Skye Diamonds and No 8 Mia Mischief and I turn to No 5 Golden Mischief (10/1). She has just won three consecutives races in six Furlongs and she will have to work an extra furlong but her versatility leads me to believe that she will be able to adapt and in every race she has won, the last furlong is the most fast of the 14 competitors.

Race 4, Breeders Crowns Turf Sprints, $ 1 Million (5½ Furlongs | Sod)

Win Placed Show: 2

Trifecta: 2,5 with 2,5,8,9,11 with 2,5,8,9,11

No 2 Buchero (10/1)

At first glance, the No 11 World Of Trouble (6/1) was my choice but a three-years versus older horses is far from ideal. It remains the choice of the jockey Irad Ortiz who had the choice of four mounts and chose this one. The two biggest oppositions will come from No 9 Stormy Liberal (4/1), a short distance turf specialist, who has won his last three races but the only small question mark is that all his victories took place in California and we can see two bad results in Eastern Time. The other is No 5 Disco Partner (7/2) who in early October made his first start in more than two months and he won by four lengths and he too is a short distance specialist. No 2 Buchero (10/1) is a neglected one with very good possibilities. He just won his last start, which could give him confidence because the two previous races, he had been manhandled twice and on short distance it does not forgive but with this advantageous position, if he can have a quiet race, it could cause surprise.

Race 7, Breeders Crowns Sprint, $ 2 Million (6 Furlongs | Dirt)

Winner: No 9

Exacta Box: 5,9

Trifecta: 9 with 5 with 1,2,7,8 and 9 with 1,2,7,8 with 5

Trifecta: 9 with 1,2,5,7,8

No 9 Roy H (5/2)

We will have a very fast race between probably the two best horses of the race, the No 5 Imperial Hint (9/5) and the No 9 Roy H (5/2). Imperial Hint won his first start after two months of absence, which was his eighth win in ten starts and he will be out but I use the statistics that his coach has a 3 % average with a horse at his second start after a long absence. No 2 Promises Fulfilled (6/1) is in great shape with three consecutives wins but versus three years. He will have to compete against older class horses so I pass. No 1 Whitmore (6/1) will be better. He will be making too a second start after two months of absence and he has just done a great job on four Furlongs but he seems more comfortable in Grade 2 races and here he will have to face excellent Grade 1. The No 9 Roy H shows us incredible speed evaluations, start after start, and his worst result is second in Grade 1 races and I do not see how he can miss the podium.

Jockey: Paco Lopez 21% – Coach: Peter Miller 18%

Race 11, The Breeders Crowns Classic, $ 6 Million (1M¼ | dirt)

Win Placed Show: 1

Trifecta (1st and 2nd) 1 with 7,8,14 with 2,3,7,8,10,11,14

Trifecta: 1,14 with 1,14 with 2,3,5,6,7,8,11

Trifecta: 1,14 with 2,3,5,6,7,8,11 with 1,14

No 1 Thunder Snow (12/1)

Who can beat No 14 Accelerate (5/2) ? This horse is from Reel Deal, winner of the last three races Grade 1 decisively and this five years is excellent with more than $ 1,7 million in winnings this season and if he is at the top, he will win. No 3 Catholic Boy (8/1), No 6 Mckinzie (6/1) and No 9 Mendelssohn (12/1) all had their moments of glory this year in Grade 1 races but against a three-years-old and they will have misery against older horses. No 7 West Coast (5/1) will be a serious opposition, a long distance specialist. On his last start, he was beaten by Accelerate by three lengths. He was on his first start in five months and he looked really fit. It will be even better and it should cause some problems to Accelerate which really has a bad starting position. No 1 Thunder Snow (12/1) will be on his third start since his five months break, having just missed out on finishing second, but will be at the top of his game. In March, he had destroyed No 7 West Coast by five lengths and West Coast is one of the horses to beat today.
