The King’s Plate Picks

#10 NO TIME sat midpack before rallying to win the Woodbine Oaks, settling much better than she had in the Selene in her previous start. Well drawn to work out the midpack trip she is hoping for, she looks like she has a very good chance to add to the success that fillies have had in the Plate in recent years.

#3 NOTORIOUS GANGSTER had a hot pace to run at but could not run down Sedbury’s Ghost when finishing second in the Plate Trial. He seems like one who will handle the 10 furlongs distance without a problem and may be able to work his way into the pack as opposed to coming from last this time.

#4 SCORCHING took on the leader early, led well into the stretch but could not hold on when finishing third in the Plate Trial. He should be able to tuck in and let other speed types wear each other out early this time, which is a running style that should be much more conducive to him sustaining himself over a longer distance.

#7 RUNAWAY AGAIN looked like a worldbeater when winning on debut by 9 ¼ lengths. He appears to have the talent to be a very nice horse but may not be quite ready to peak and win a race like this; nevertheless, I expect him to show up with a good run.
